Carly & Todd

I spent this past Saturday afternoon in beautiful Boothbay Harbor shooting Carly & Todd's E-Session. Carly & Todd were my first E-Session of the summer and I could not have asked for a nicer couple to start with! They are both from Rhode Island and have recently moved to the New York City area. They were up in Boothbay Harbor for the weekend working on the arrangements for their September wedding at Spruce Point.

The weather called for overcast/cloudy skies along the coast that day so we planned a mid-afternoon start time...well the forecast was wrong so we were shooting in mid-day bright, hazy sun but we made the best of it :) Here's a handful of images from our time together:

This last images was taken on the very spot that Todd Proposed to Carly last year :)

1st Swim

Two days ago on Friday the kids FINALLY got to go swimming in the pool for the first time of the season. I say "finally" because they have been pestering to do so for a while :) But things have been busy and the pool was not ready as early as it usually is. They usually take their first plunge near the end of May. The water temp was a brisk 69 degrees so that is why you don't see any pics of me jumping in, I like it more like 78-80ish ;)

Seems like summer is here now!

The Bugs & The Bees

The early summer flowers are now in bloom here in Zone 3. The following are from my gardens by the house.

Ants busily working on the Peonies, they will have them open in a day or two...

This Bumble Bee was extremely tolerant of me, luckily. It was not easy to get good images of this Bee. If you ever watch Bumble Bees you know that they are very busy workers, never staying in one place perfectly still which makes it really hard to lock focus on such a small target (not to mention how grumpy they are :) Well it took me at least 10 minutes and some 40 odd shots to get these images...

Jack's 'Reader's Theater'

Well I managed to fall behind on blogging yet again. I just have to come to the conclusion that when life gets busy, blogging is a low priority and I will blog when I can. There :)

With that said...Jack's Kindergarden class recently held a 'Reader's Theater'. It was sooo cute. Instead of costumes and acting out little plays, the kids stand up in little groups of 3 and read their stories. It is so fun to watch this age group stand up in front of a room full of onlookers and read! They all did a GREAT job, and they overcame their "stage fright". Jack's little group of three read a cute story about some Little Ducks who were scared off by a motor boat.

Jack of course is on the right. He kept a close eye on Dad and smiled the whole time :)
