Kasey & Tim: Strong, Maine Wedding

Rain. It rained the entire week leading up to Kasey & Tim's Memorial Day weekend Wedding. Rain. Over 9 inches fell during the week here in the Western Mountains of Maine. The forecast for the day was semi-encouraging, calling for a possible break in the rain by early afternoon...turning to passing showers. "Sure, a little rain on a wedding day is supposed to bring good luck, but sheesh Mother Nature, let up and give Kasey and Tim a break!", was a thought that kept repeating in my mind all morning long. We shall see.

I travel a lot for my weddings. I have done them in New Orleans, Gulfport, throughout New England, and up and down the Maine coast. I love traveling to new destinations for beautiful weddings and super fun couples, but this was a special treat for me...I documented my first wedding right here in my home town of Strong, Maine! Again, I love my destination weddings...but what a treat to sleep in my own bed the night before the wedding, and again after :)

Because this was the first time I could partially see my house and back lawn from where the bride was getting ready, I just have to include this one taken out the window at Kasey's parent's home ;)

Ok, I've shared my enthusiasm for a hometown wedding...back to the big day.

Friends and family certainly are priceless supporters on wedding day!

The whole house was bustling with family and friends getting ready. I like this one of Kasey's Dad getting some helping hands

Came out to NO RAIN!

While the guests headed off to Saddleback Mountain in Rangeley for cocktail hour, Kasey, Tim, and I went back up the hill to her Parent's for some 'Alone Time'

We had scouted out some locations the week prior, but had to change our plans a bit. As you can see, the ground was quite saturated by the week long rains.

Personally, I LOVE when it is a tad stormy/gloomy(as long as it's not actually raining)...I think it adds a beautiful mood to the feel of the images. Wouldn't you agree?

Yes, they walked through an actual ray of sunshine at this very moment...and then it was gone. Perfect!

How great do they look together?!? I've said it before and I'll say it again...I get THE BEST couples!

Need to include a little hottness ;)

We then went across town to the Lambert Homestead, owned by my Uncle who was gracious enough to let us shoot there for a bit. I NEVER edit with any sort of 'antique' look, but thought it was fitting for portraits at the old Homestead

Then we were off to Saddleback for a night of celebration. Quick stop overlooking Rangeley Lake before turning onto the access road produced this beautiful image that I will end with
